DIY Balloon Garland
I’ve always loved balloons, and in my mind, a party isn't complete without them. They bring the fun, the pizzazz, and the glamour. Maybe it’s the kid in me, but I just can’t get enough.
When I started planning parties at home, balloons were always included but I would hit up Party City and pay big bucks.
I always marvelled at the way other people could make the most beautiful balloon arrangements, but never thought I could do it myself.
That is, until I tried. Now that I figured it out, I realize it’s a lot easier than you’d ever think and I can’t wait to share it with you.
FYI - there are A LOT of different kinds of balloon arrangements, like bouquets, arches, and rays. But in this post, I am simply outlining how to make a balloon garland for your next party using my little trick to make it easier.
Before you get started, try this little trick:
Get helpers to blow up the balloons. Call me lazy, but I don’t have time to blow up a million balloons. This will make your life so much easier, and it will be fast, furious and fun.
What you’ll need:
Balloons (different sizes, like small, medium and large + pick a colour scheme you like)
Balloon Pump - you can order this one from my Amazon Store
Balloon Decoration Strips - you can order this one from my Amazon Store
Command Hooks (optional)
Clips (optional)
Steps:
Choose the length of your garland by cutting off a piece of the balloon decoration strip to build your garland (6 ft is usually pretty good)
Blow up your balloons, and the trick here is to make three different sizes (small, medium and large) and to NOT over-blow them
Then, start building your garland by pulling the tied balloon tips through your decoration strip. The key here is to arrange the balloons or alternate the balloons based on the sizes
Place three - five command hooks on your wall in the placement you would like to hang your garland
Hang the garland on the wall by placing the little decoration strip slits (you’ll see what I mean once you get started) on the command hooks
And viola, your garland is complete!
Tips:
You can hang this on the wall, a backdrop, a railing, table top, you name it
The balloons will last anywhere from a week to a month
