Life at IKEA

Here’s a little secret…

If you are looking for something fun to do with your kids and don’t want to go far, hit up your local IKEA. You don’t even have to buy anything - though you will. All you have to do is stroll through the showroom for it to be fun.

Oh, and make sure it is NOT on the weekend.

Chet and I recently went together and had a blast. We spent a lot of time enjoying IKEA’s displays. The best part was - Chet kept wanting to buy their display props. I didn’t know how to break it to him - they’re just not for sale!

Here are our favourite finds from IKEA from our last visit:

  • Bamboo Trays - I bought one of these trays for each of the kids and was thinking of using them to put snacks one, play with toys like lego and / or to use for crafts. They come in different sizes, are light and super cute

  • Storage Containers - I bought a few storage containers but the one I am very excited about will slide under Chet’s bed for him to keep his school uniform in. That way, in the morning, he can slide it out and easily get dressed with all his clothes right there in one place.

  • Small Cutting Boards - I was so excited to find these small cutting boards for the kids to use. Chet has a knife set but I thought this would be the perfect addition to help him with it. They are small, light and come in a few different colours.

I try to buy second hand or local as much as possible. But I do LOVE IKEA for a lot of things, like design ideas, storage, organization, and small space tips.

Q. What’s your favourite thing to buy at IKEA? I’d love to know. Tell me below👇🏻
