Pumpkin Treats

If you want to make the most of the season, here’s what you have to do — you need to get out there and take part.

For me, Fall is all about colourful leaves, hot drinks, home-baked treats and visits to the local family farm.

If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend with your kids, try this — head out to the pumpkin patch at your local family farm and pick up some cute little pumpkins.

Then, bring them back to roast them and make one of these amazing fun + EASY homemade pumpkin treats:

  1. Homemade Pumpkin Puree — this is way easier than you would ever think, and is perfect for all your healthy baking by following these steps

  2. Pumpkin Pie Spice — made with five simple ingredients that you probably have in your cupboard right now, and by making it at home you never have to worry about it being sold out — recipe here

  3. Roasted Pumpkin Seeds — you can make these from the seeds in your pumpkin and they are so easy to roast, flavourful and heavenly delicious

  4. Pumpkin Pie Pudding — try this delicious pumpkin pie pudding with less than five ingredients by using this recipe

  5. Pumpkin Pie — this pumpkin pie recipe is old-fashioned in style, delicious, healthy and so easy to make by following these steps

  6. Pumpkin Pie Spice Balls — we put these in the freezer and the kids can’t stop eating them, which I don’t mind because they are so healthy

  7. Pumpkin Spice Drink — this tastes like Fall, and can be served hot or cold, or even as a martini. Yum!

  8. Pumpkin Chocolate Bread — my idea of pure heaven, and this recipe had less than ten ingredients, which made it so easy to make

If you want to enjoy the pumpkins and not roast them, you can always buy a can of pumpkin purée. That works too, and is delicious! 

DYK?  Pumpkin is considered a superfood! It’s packed full of nutrients, high in fibre and low in calories. Not to mention, they are super cute to look at and decorate the house with.

I’ve been working through pumpkin treats, since it’s the season for them but I will be going through the classics, old-fashioned and guilty pleasures next. But they will all be made healthy + yummy for our Healthy Snacks Challenge.
