Kids Bongo Drum

Want a fun idea to do with your kids? Make a DIY homemade bongo drum out of an old recycled container!

They will love making it! They can decorate it, and play with it for days. Drum away!

I made this one using an old recycled formula container, Kraft paper, tissue paper, sparkle card stock, parchment paper and Kraft covered wire.

So much fun to make, so easy to do and uses 100% recycled materials.

Steps:

  • Cover Container cut Kraft paper to size, and wrap parameter of the container with it (tape sides to hold in place)

  • Make the Fringe Fold tissue paper in half, cut 1 cm strips from side to side and only 3/4 of the way up, then tape the folded side to the top of the container to make hanging fringe

  • Decorate with Stars Cut stars from sparkle card stock, and tape them to the top of the fringe around the container

  • Cover the Top take a piece of parchment paper, and trace out a circle using the top of the container and extend it by 2 inches. Then cut out the circle, and use the covered wire to secure it in place by wrapping it around the top and twisting it close
