Kids Room Name Sign

I love seeing things come to life. It’s so cool to watch something go from an idea to real life.

Growing up my dad would always say, why would we buy it when we can make it. He was that guy who was always scooting around making things.

For Coco’s room, I really wanted a name sign – but the one I liked from Etsy was all sold out. So I decided to design my own, a pretty simple design, then ask my dad to make it.

He lives in a small town and is resourceful at finding odds and ends. He rescued some wood from a lumber yard, and then built the sign from scratch.

Now this little gem of a sign is something Coco will have forever. Nothing like an item with a special little story behind it.

Don’t ya think?

How to Make:
- Pick your font and size (can use Canva, Adobe or Microsoft for inspiration)
- Use a stencil, ruler or draw by hand on paper (can create your own stencil with your computer)
- Pick your material: fabric, wood, paint, etc. (may need to ask for help)
- Decide on how you will fasten: on stand, hooks, directly on wall
- Then bring to life and enjoy!

The beauty of making your own is that you can design it for your space and colour scheme.
